I KNOW MY OWN HEART Opens

And just like that, I KNOW MY OWN HEART is open! We were so fortunate to have Emma Donoghue for joining us for opening night and a post-show conversation.

This rehearsal process has been incredibly joyful and life-giving, in large part because of the wonderful ensemble of principle and understudy actors. Special thanks to production manager Paul Cook, stage manager Corey Bradberry, and assistant director Melanie Thompson for all their hard work.

This production was also my first time using an intimacy director, and it was a wonderful experience! Chicago actor and intimacy director Sarah Scanlon made the cast feel completely safe and secure in a show with a LOT of intimacy. Her presence also created a great deal of mindfulness around the most delicate moments in the play.

This production also marks my first Jeff-eligible show in Chicago, and I’m delighted to share that the show is Jeff Recommended! I KNOW MY OWN HEART runs through February 10. You can purchase tickets HERE. I hope you’ll join us. x
